TashiCell 5G
TashiCell officially launched 5G Service in Thimphu, Paro, and Phuentsholing Thromdes on 15th December 2021. TashiCell deployed 5G under the Band N78 since it is one of the harmonized 5G bands deployed throughout the world
and is also best suited for Bhutanese tropology. To enjoy 5G services you just need to enable 5G on your 4G SIM Card and have a handset that supports TashiCell 5G.
TashiCell 5G services are now available in the following 18 Dzongkhags:
The company plans to further expand 5G services to the remaining areas within these Dzongkhags followed by deployment at Gyalsung sites and satellite towns before the end of 2022.
5G technology can support higher speed (10 times higher), lower delay, and greater network capacity compared to 4G. These superior capabilities will enable TashiCell to provide high-speed 5G broadband services and enhance the experience of the Mobile Broadband (eMBB) on the smartphones used by individual customers.
